Among the insurances accepted are: AETNA, CIGNA, DELTA DENTAL, GUARDIAN, EMPIRE, MetLife, and Connection Dental DO YOU ACCEPT MY INSURANCE? For most MAJOR INSURANCE companies, the answer is YES. That means our office will bill your insurer for the majority of your bill and you-the patient-will pay your deductible and copayment. If you have a union-type plan, such as UFT or 1199 or any insurance of unknown reimbursement schedule, you will pay our office fee and receive reimbursement from your insurance carrier. I DON'T SEE YOUR NAME LISTED IN MY PLAN BOOKLET. WILL I STILL BE COVERED? In most cases-yes! Unless you have an HMO or DMO type plan, also called a "closed panel" plan, you may choose to go to a dentist not in the booklet, or "out-of-network" as it is called. You will be covered in very much the same way as "in-network" in most cases. The dentists listed in the booklet have agreed to a fee schedule determined by the insurance company. IF I AM INSURED IS MY DENTAL CARE FULLY COVERED? Most insurance plans follow the same format. EXAMS, X-RAYS, CLEANINGS are usually covered for 100% of what each insurance company determines to be reasonable. FILLINGS are usually covered for 80% of what the insurer feels is reasonable for a silver filling. Since our fillings are tooth colored bonded resin, you can expect reimbursenet to be approximately 60-70%. ROOT CANAL coverage is generally 80%. CROWNS(CAPS) AND POSTS are covered 50% in most cases. "DEDUCTIBLE" - Each family member will generally need to pay for the first $50 of their care each year. |
